Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant brawls in the recent face-off.
The Mexican boxer Canelo Saul Alvarez and Caleb Plant exchanged punches in their first face-off as both of them will challenge for four belts on November 6 at MGM Grand Garden Arena Las Vegas.
Defeating Callum Smith on Dec 2020 for the WBO title, the Mexican pugilist is currently holding 3 belts, i.e. WBC, WBO, WBA. The pound for pound king has shown his dominating skills throughout his career, defending and winning world titles many times. However, this time Alvarez got an undefeated opponent on his way. That said, things are already heated up for the upcoming collision.
The recent press saw both men go back and forth with each other, resulting in a physical altercation. As the press conference started, both men shared their thoughts on the fight. Things got messy when both the pugilist went to an intense staredown. Plant planted a slap Alvarez which evoked the Mexican star to hit ‘Sweet Hands’ with a hook. The securities managed to step in and separate both the fighters.
The scuffle inrtensified when the team members began to exchange some strong words. The exchanging blows in the face-off made a cut on the eye of Plant which might affect the fight.
In a word with CBS Boxing Plant said, “It’s a fight”, “If he’s gonna turn it into a fight, then that’s what it is. I’m not no punk. You don’t just get to stand up here and do whatever you want to me. Maybe the rest of these guys, you can just come up and here and they’re all scared of you. That’s now how this works.”
What lies ahead of the fight?
As this fight got canceled before in September, it is rescheduled again this November. Following the current scenario, it is not sure we will get to see both men in action inside the ring. Caleb Plant is currently the IBF super-middleweight champion and Canelo is the WBO, WBC, and WBA champion. If any of them make a win in their match, the respective boxer will hold 4 titles at the same time.
